This specific opportunity is to work with their multi disciplinary interior subcontractor who are working in and around London with a turnover of £20m. They work on a variety of projects, from major residential landmark developments to complex world leading health care / hospital projects and then have a few smaller commercial projects. Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Intermediate Quantity Surveyor from a drylining / interior subcontract back ground to join their dynamic team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial aspects of their London projects, they currently have 4 active projects in London ranging from £1.7m - £8m and their commercial lead is stretched, they have a number of other tenders looking promising and the next one to drop will need a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial and contractual expertise on Drylining packages on luxury residential and iconic landmark projects, including cost planning, procurement, and contract administration.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections, identifying potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
- Oversee the procurement process, including subcontractor selection, negotiation, and award of contracts, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide accurate and timely cost reports to project stakeholders, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the project team to mitigate commercial risks, resolve disputes, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Manage and mentor junior members of the quantity surveying team, providing guidance and support to facilitate their professional development.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, representing the company professionally and promoting a collaborative working environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or CIOB accreditation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the drylining industry ideally with experience on luxury residential developments and iconic landmark projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and a detailed understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Chartered status with the RICS or CIOB is advantageous.
