Salary: UH5 £28,081 to £29,659 pa with potential to progress to £31,387 by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

The School of Creative Arts are recruiting for an Executive Assistant to the Dean of School. The successful candidate will be joining us in an exciting time of change and development. You will be working with an experienced team of professional staff, with an opportunity to develop your leadership skills. The post holder will undertake a range of key activities such as diary management, meeting servicing, and general administrative tasks.
You will be working closely with senior managers across and outside the University sphere, sector bodies and external contacts. The post holder will initiate responses or respond to correspondence to personal and telephone enquiries from staff at all levels and various senior external contacts.
Main duties and responsibilities
To provide comprehensive executive assistance to the Dean of School. This will require the post holder to provide co-ordinated administrative support for a variety of areas including human resources, financial and strategic planning, academic planning and project co-ordination relating specifically to the needs of the School. The post holder will be required to ensure accurate completion of School related administration in full compliance with legal and University requirements.
The post holder will be expected to provide a strong customer-facing service to both internal and external contacts and will be the first point of contact for the Dean. This role requires a high level of initiative and a need to display good attention to detail whilst demonstrating sound personal judgement when handling confidential and sensitive material. The successful candidate will be required to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities.
Skill and experience required
You will have appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation. Experience of working in Higher Education administration is desirable.
You will have excellent IT skills, be numerate and literate, with a good understanding of customer care and a confident, polite telephone manner. You will have good organisational and data skills, a methodical approach to working with attention to detail, and able to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines autonomously and as part of a team. Ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality is essential.
Qualifications required
Educated with A-levels or equivalent, or significant proven professional work experience.
