Claims Handler - Commercial Property (12 Month FTC)

Our Commercial Property team deal with material damage and business interruption claims up to £100,000 in value. We're pleased to share an opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler on a 12 Month FTC to really make a difference to the clients and customers we support. The role would suit someone presently in a handler role keen to develop their career further by dealing with more complex or high value commercial claims, with potential to participate in one of our development programmes to support a move into a commercial adjuster role.
Working alongside Commercial Adjusters, you’ll assist in managing direct cases and have the ability and background knowledge to make the right decisions on each claim. You’ll also support colleagues by sharing information, gathering evidence and working with third parties to provide full case details of the claim through to settlement or repudiation.
Most importantly, you’ll be able to put yourself in our customer’s shoes, see the full picture and have the ability to make decisions based on the facts, treating all claims on their individual merits.

After training, the successful candidate will spend at least one day per week in our London office meeting colleagues and participating in team activity.
You will have/will be:
1. Superb communications skills - listening and acting upon information given
2. Able to work as part of a team in a fast-moving environment and in compliance with SLAs
3. The ability to work on your own initiative and to assist adjusters in moving caseloads to conclusion
4. Able to develop and maintain a close working relationship with the customers, to promote customer satisfaction during all stages of the claim
5. Understanding and empathy when required
6. Able to prioritise your workload on a daily basis
7. Excellent keyboard/ IT skills
8. Ideally be educated to an advanced level
9. Dip CII/cert CILA qualified or willing to work towards this qualification
