The bereavement support midwife, as a clinical specialist will assist the Bereavement Midwife to provide support to women and their families who have experienced fetal loss or the death of a baby within the maternity setting. This will commence in the antenatal period and continue once the woman has gone home. They will provide guidance and support to midwifery and medical staff when caring for women experiencing loss in pregnancy, stillbirth or early neonatal death.
