Role
Are you passionate about safety and security? Do you have a friendly and professional demeanour? We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Campus Security Officer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety of our campus users and the integrity of our college estate and equipment. You will develop and maintain a consistent security framework across all college sites, assist with the implementation of security measures, and liaise with external agencies as needed. If you are proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent customer service skills, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively ensure the safety and security of campus users through various security methods, techniques, and technologies.
* Assist in developing and maintaining a consistent security framework for campus security services.
* Conduct campus-wide patrols and respond to incidents, ensuring a professional and friendly approach in all interactions.
* Develop and manage a security rota to ensure adequate presence in designated areas.
* Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
* Utilise the college's CCTV system to monitor campus activities and assist with incident investigations.
* Become a qualified First Aider and provide immediate assistance in emergency situations (training provided).
* Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and contribute to the overall operations manual.
Essential Criteria
* Appropriate valid SIA accreditation
* Relevant customer service training
* Previous security experience in an education environment.
* Previous experience liaising with law enforcement or agencies.
* Experience operating CCTV solutions
* Proactive and enthusiastic work ethic.
* Methodical approach and a good eye for detail
* Math / English GCSE or Equivalent
* Has high expectations of self and others
