An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our Radiology Nursing team. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Nurses, support staff, Radiographers, and Radiologists. The ideal candidate will be driven to support the delivery of high standards of care within the imaging modalities of Interventional Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, and the Vascular Access Team. The varied nature of Interventional Radiology means there is always something new and exciting to learn.

Main duties of the job
This post consists of a variety of roles including scrub assistant for sterile interventional procedures, circulating duties, ensuring patient safety through accurate recording of patient observations, IV drug administration, and managing patients' care pre and post procedure. You will also have a supporting role within the Trust-wide Vascular Access Team. The Radiology Nurses also run a pre-assessment clinic, ensuring all patients are adequately prepared for their procedures.
You must be a 1st Level Registered Adult Nurse, and a teaching certificate would be of benefit. Local training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide excellent individual nursing care for Radiology and vascular access patients as service demands with the support of the senior nursing team including acting as circulating and scrub nurse for interventional procedures across all imaging modalities.
The post holder will also provide a pre-assessment service to elective Radiology patients which incorporates:
* Venepuncture and cannulation
* ECG recording
* Protocol-based history taking
* Preparation of patient documentation for elective admissions
* Order tests and investigations
* Take part in audits
* Liaising with specialist nurses
* Taking part in any future on-call
The post holder will be flexible in their approach as the Radiology Department is constantly changing so that it can provide a service that meets Local and National Modernisation Agendas.
