We are looking for an outstanding Cook who’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You’ll be working 40 hours a week from (08:00 till 17:00 inc Alternative Weekends) at Cygnet Wast Hills (Kings Norton, Birmingham), creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Wast Hills provides support for 21 individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs for men over 18 in Kings Norton (B39 9ET).

Your day-to-day...
* Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
* Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs
* Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ nutritional & dietary needs
* Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
* Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
* Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
You are...
* Experienced Cook used to working in a team environment (Essential)
* Previous Healthcare Experience (Desirable)
* Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
* Must hold an up-to-date Food & Hygiene Certificate (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of COOSH (Essential)
* Experienced in dealing with multi-dietary requirements and allergens
* Polite & professional (Essential)
* Strong Verbal Communication Skills (Essential)
* Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
