Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants within Chailey Clinical Services. The role will consist of managing a designated caseload of children and young adults with complex neuro-disability, within Chailey Heritage School (3-19 years), Chailey Heritage Futures (19-25 years) and Chailey Outpatient Clinics. The post holder will provide leadership in a relevant area of specialism, such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and the management of Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (EDS) difficulties. You will contribute to training within your area of clinical expertise, both internally at Chailey Clinical and externally as required. We would consider this role as part time or flexible working. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will act as a Highly Specialist Clinician and provide assessment and management of the communication, eating, drinking and oral sensori-motor needs of a caseload of children and young adults with complex neuro-disability, on site at Chailey. You will be well-supported with frequent access to peer support, shadowing opportunities, in-house CPD, supervision and access to formal training as required. The successful candidate will work as a valued member of the Chailey Speech and Language Therapy Team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, organisation and communication skills, you will be resourceful, reliable and flexible, and committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way, to facilitate the best outcomes for the children and young adults we support. You will work closely in conjunction with families, class teams, support staff and the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). The MDT based at Chailey includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietetics, nurses, paediatricians, doctors, clinical scientists, dentists, rehabilitation engineers, school and social care staff and more. You will provide leadership and supervision to others within the service and act as a resource and support for other members of the MDT. You will contribute and lead on the development, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery as appropriate.
