EP Ecology is seeking to employ an entry level ecologist to help deliver a growing workload of projects throughout Central Scotland.
Salary: £25,800 p/a (18 month contract)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week + TOIL
Based: Based in the EP Ecology Office within High Blantyre with home working and flexible working hours permitted as well as sites across Scotland.

About the Role
As an assistant ecologist within the team, your role will be to support the staff in the day to day delivery of projects. This will involve both fieldwork as well as report authoring.
This role will function as an 18-month traineeship at the end of which we would expect you to have developed the requisite skill and experience to function at a consultant grade.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
This role will require:
* Experience with at least one Scottish native species or habitat (gained through honours project, volunteering, or relevant work experience as applicable);
* Full UK drivers licence and access to own vehicle;
* Understanding of the risks and hazards associated with outdoor working and remote working;
* Willingness to stay away from home as required;
* The right to work in the UK;
* A genuine enthusiasm for conservation and outdoor working; and
* The ability and confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
Candidates with any of the following are particularly welcome:
* NatureScot protected species licence holder;
* A degree in a relevant ecological field;
* Membership of CIEEM (Any grade);
* CSCS Card Holder (ecologist);
* First aid trained;
* Off-road driver qualification;
* Health and safety qualifications; and
* Experience of QGIS/QField.
