About our group:
The Manufacturing Department in the Springtown facility is responsible for the manufacturing of the product, in Wafer format, to meet customer schedule. The product moves between multiple tools and processes, with a total build cycle time in excess of 6 months. The team consists of a Manufacturing Specialist (Production Operator) headcount in excess of 750, allocated to one of 4 shift teams. The department allocates personnel to run the tools, move the product, with attention to teamwork, throughput and quality of product.
About the role - you will:
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will have responsibility for the direction, motivation, and performance of a team of manufacturing specialists engaged in the manufacturing process. Your role has the responsibility of maintaining a safe working environment, managing a team of up to 35 Manufacturing Specialists, engaging cross functionally to meet the standards and operational performance expected of your team. You will already be an effective leader, with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop your team members in a manufacturing environment.
You Will:
* Manage team of Manufacturing Specialists, including the effective communication of goals, providing training and development opportunities and providing feedback on performance in a high-performance team environment.
* Maintain focus on producing results that meet or exceed plans and goals.
* Create a high performing & engaged workforce who feel valued and appreciated.
* Comply with Health & Safety procedures including the reporting of accidents/incidents/work related illnesses, regular safety audits, compliance with standard operating procedures.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness within the manufacturing facility.
* Take the lead in operational bottleneck situations to alleviate the issue and work cross functionally in providing an immediate response and timely resolution.
* Adapt plans and manage changes that arise as a result of priority adjustments, resources, policies, organisation changes or customer requirements.
* Promote and drive the building of cross-departmental relationships within the Springtown facility to improve work effectiveness.
* Be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and promote a continuous improvement culture within the team.
About you:
* Demonstrated leadership experience within a high performing team environment.
* Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrate experience in continuous improvement.
Your experience includes:
* At least 2 years previous supervisory / management experience.
* You must have at least 5 GCSE’s, including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications including; Level 2/3 qualifications, relevant to the subject e.g. Management, Manufacturing Operations, Lean Manufacturing, Engineering etc, and/or a University Degree. NVQ qualifications must be Level 3 and above.
* You will bring a strong people supervisory / management profile with demonstrated experience in all HR management aspects for the role.
* Demonstrating a successful track record of managing a team of people against goals and targets, in a pressurised work environment.
You may also have:
* You might have a recognized management qualification.

Work Shifts: 12-hour onsite shifts that include days and nights. (Working shift include: - 4 days/nights on 4 days/ nights off, 2 days/nights on 2 days/nights off, 3 days/nights on 3 days/nights off, 2 days/nights on 2 days/nights off). The rota will then repeat.
This is a Full-Time position working an average of 42 hours per week on-site.
