About the Role
You will ensure that the College buildings, grounds, outlying premises, systems and services are well maintained, safe and secure.
You will also undertake portering and other property associated duties.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the security and safety of College buildings by being conversant with the various intruder/fire alarms, heating, lighting, HVAC, lift systems and associate plant control and being responsible for the opening and closure of the College’s buildings on our main campuses. Maintain appropriate records.
• Driving duties as and when required
• Where appropriate ensure the College vehicle fleet are maintained and cleaned to a satisfactory standard and that routine safety checks are carried out at regular intervals
• Be part of/lead the College incident/evacuation control team.
• Be part of the College’s First Aid Team

Qualifications and Experience
• Essential:
o Educated to either Intermediate 1 General Standard Grade, NC or SVQ Level 1 or SCQF Level 4 equivalent
o IOSH Working Safely or be willing to work towards
o Awareness of Health and Safety procedures
o First Aid at Work certificate or be willing to work towards
o Possess a full driving licence
• Desirable:
o Educated to NC/SVQ level or an equivalent qualification in an appropriate trade related discipline
o Previous experience in Estates technical functions
Skills and Attributes
• Essential:
o Have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, along with experience in dealing with staff, students and visitors
o Ability to use own initiative to problem solve
• Desirable:
o Good level of skill using ICT
