Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Community Dietitian based at East Ayrshire Community Hospital.
Are you looking to develop your skills working in community services as part of an established, cohesive and friendly team?
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to join our busy Community/Primary Care East Ayrshire Dietetic team. This post is based at East Ayrshire Community Hospital and works alongside dietitians, a dietetic assistant practitioner and a dietetic support worker. The successful candidate will provide an evidence based dietetic service to a range of clinical specialties within a community hospital, domiciliary, care home and outpatient clinic caseload. East Ayrshire Community Hospital is based in Cumnock and contains a 24 bedded GP Unit and a Specialised Dementia Unit with 12 beds.
You will have responsibility for the day to day management of your own caseload and will be supported to be a core contributor to the department’s shared caseload. By operating a partly shared team caseload we are able to offer excellent opportunities for experience and development in a wide range of clinical areas. The department provides training to A, B and C placement student dietitians.
You should possess an honours degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Experience in community dietetics would be an advantage. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential including good interpersonal skills, excellent team working and organisational skills, robust time management and prioritisation skills and self-motivation.
