About the role Working within the People Directorate, Education Services ensure that early help and specialist support is provided to children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and proactively champion the inclusion of all children in education. What will you be doing? The post holder would carry a caseload of approximately 50 cases, providing a range of support depending on the circumstances and the needs of the child and their family/carers. This is a school age (5-19 years)role supporting children across their homes, settings, schools and occasional other bases. The post holder willalso be contributing to the delivery of courses and workshops which includes occasional evening working (agreed in advance). This role is part-flexible worker style, this means that you are expected to be in the office base, working from settings, completing visits and meetings, which will be in person and online, within your working hours. Some working from home is an option dependent on service need and demand and is agreed in advance with your line manager. This is a 37 hour per week, full time, temporary contract as a maternity cover post for up to 12 months. You will be required to travel within West Northamptonshire and sometimes beyond. Interviews will be on 05 & 06.03.2025 at One Angel Square. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and AdultsBarred List check. About you TheSEND Practitioner roles are based within the SEND Support Service and we are looking for anexperienced and enthusiastic colleagueto join our established team. The service supports children and young people from 0-19 at home and in education, empowering parents and setting/school staff through a variety of support methods including working with parents and school staff, running targeted workshops and direct work with children and young people.
