Typically they specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff. Role: Senior Mechanical Project Manager – C.London – £450-£500 per day The successful candidate will be overseeing flagship Commercial new build valued up to £30 million M&E package for one of the largest blue-chip businesses in the world. Responsibilities: Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants) Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant Technical submittals RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors Value Engineering where applicable Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project Health & Safety management (RAMs) Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey. Management of variations Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors) Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings Overseeing commissioning stages Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover The ideal candidate will have: 10 years’ industry experience Good general knowledge of building services engineering systems and their implementation. Good communicator. Competent in Health and Safety management. Programme oriented. Eye for quality. Good organiser and able to implement systems. Prepared to be innovative. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to build relationships e.g. marketing relationships with external professionals and clients, strategic relationships with contractors and suppliers.
