The position offers the opportunity to work in specialist clinics: Nail surgery, Musculoskeletal and Wound care, whilst delivering care to existing high and medium risk patients and assessment of new patients. A domiciliary caseload is also part of the service provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop your skills in a more specialist role or for new graduates to progress from Band 5 to Band 6 over 12 months, conditional on successfully completing the developmental program.

Main duties of the job
Your role as a Band 6 Podiatrist will be to provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health and protection service for the population of CSH Surrey at a variety of clinical sites including in the patient's own home, working towards achieving the objectives and values of CSH Surrey.
Including:
* Assessing, diagnosing, developing treatment plans and providing effective podiatric treatments, using a problem-solving approach based on clinical need and evidence-based practice. Care should have an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
* Working as an autonomous clinician within Professional, Departmental and CSH guidelines, part of a multidisciplinary team when required and act as a source of advice to patients, carers, GPs and other Health Care Professionals.
* Maintaining clear, comprehensive and accurate records, participating in specialist clinical rotations and actively participating in clinical support (clinical supervision) utilizing reflective practice.
* Keeping up to date with clinical and professional developments, maintaining CPD and mandatory training and actively participating in Professional development reviews.
* Communicating effectively with all patients, carers, relatives, GPs, other Health professionals, colleagues and administrative support.

Role Summary
To provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health service for the population of CSH Surrey.
Principal Duties
* To work as an integral member of the podiatry team to assess need and deliver quality programmes of Podiatric care to patients in a variety of settings across the CSH Surrey sites.
Clinical Duties
* To assess, diagnose, develop specialised treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments, using a problem-solving approach based on clinical need and evidence-based practice.
* To provide early intervention whenever possible to enable long-term gain.
* To commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
* To provide services at a wide variety of sites including a patient's home, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and in challenging conditions, often working in isolation.
* To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance as appropriate.
* To obtain informed consent prior to treatment plans commencing.
* To ensure all patients are appropriately assessed prior to referring to the assistant grade.
