My client is a world renowned Engineering Consultancy who offer a variety of services to a number of high end prestigious and local companies. Due to securing a number of new projects, their Leeds office is looking to bring in a Principal Structural Engineer who will be critical to the successful delivery of projects to budget and timescales.
As the team grows, this role may include responsibility for leading a small team of engineers and designers. Initial requirements would include:
1. Managing the delivery of projects.
2. Acting as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team.
3. Maintaining client contact and ensuring that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements.
You will ensure that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets, and undertake project delivery tasks which may include calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports.
You will also be required to:
1. Provide technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues.
2. Assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others.
3. Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines.
You will have knowledge of design in common building materials including:
1. Steel
2. Concrete
3. Timber
4. Masonry
Additionally, experience in geotechnical engineering and designing foundations is required. You will need experience in:
1. Preparation and checking of well-presented design calculations, notes, reports, and general correspondence.
2. Presenting your understanding of how other building engineering factors may influence the successful implementation of your design ideas.
You will be conversant with Eurocodes and leading industry analysis and design software, have in-depth knowledge of both Tekla and Revit, have experience of working within a 3D design environment, and have the ability to work to BIM protocols.
This role would suit a Chartered (or near Chartered) Structural Engineer with a minimum of 7 years post-graduate UK experience. This position offers a flexible work from home policy and a unique opportunity to grow your own team in the future.
