Description
Chester Medical School is an exciting new development at the University of Chester, which delivers a range of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical and biomedical sciences. Our new MBChB Graduate Entry Programme launched in September 2024 alongside a successful Physician Associate (PA) programme. We are actively recruiting suitably qualified and experienced staff to join our team.
An opportunity exists for a suitably experienced secondary care consultant or associate specialist to oversee the development and implementation of the teaching, learning and assessment of Year 3 of the MBChB programme which started in 2024, and develop and implement a range of appropriate secondary care placements with local education providers.
This includes direct responsibility for overseeing arrangements for placement management and quality monitoring and coordinating educational activities with other staff to ensure students are prepared to get the best out of their placements and contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare.
You will be expected to contribute to the School’s teaching and administration, and actively promote medical education. The ideal candidate will be an experienced secondary care clinician who has relevant previous programme leadership, teaching and/or training experience with medical students or doctors in training.
We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants.
For an informal conversation, please contact Prof Judy McKimm, CMS Pro Dean & Professor of Medical Education, j.mckimm@chester.ac.uk
