Salary: £85-£95 daily rate
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our school in the SA33 area. This is a 1:1 support role working with a student who displays challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with additional needs and the ability to implement strategies to support the student’s emotional, social, and academic development.
The position is due to start after the Easter holidays, with the potential for a full-time role lasting until July, depending on the needs of the student and the candidate’s performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support for a student with challenging behaviour.
* Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement tailored strategies to support the student’s needs.
* Promote positive behaviour management and emotional regulation.
* Assist with academic tasks, ensuring the student’s learning is fully supported.
* Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the student’s progress and well-being.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviour or special educational needs (SEN).
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.
* A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification, Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) would be an advantage.
