We are currently recruiting for a part-time Assistant SENCO to join a dynamic and supportive team at a well-established boys' secondary school in North Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in writing up EHCPs to make a positive impact in a thriving school environment. The school is flexible with hours to suit the successful candidate, offering a great work-life balance while contributing to the students' learning and development.
About the Role:
1. Support the SENCO in managing the special educational needs provision across the school
2. Assist in writing and reviewing EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) for students with special educational needs
3. Work alongside teachers to ensure that students' individual needs are met through appropriate differentiation and support strategies
4. Liaise with external agencies and parents to ensure the right level of support for students
5. Help deliver tailored interventions to support students' academic and personal development
6. Contribute to the creation of a supportive, inclusive learning environment for all students
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience in SEN with knowledge of EHCP writing and supporting students with additional needs
2. Previous experience in a secondary school setting
3. A strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices for student support
4. Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills
5. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external agencies
6. A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a proactive attitude
