Our client, a leading company in the automotive industry, is seeking a talented Planning Engineer to join their team in Crewe. This is a temporary position with an estimated duration of 6-12 months.
As a Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective planning of manufacturing processes, specifically in the area of dry build. You will work closely with various teams to analyse properties, feasibility, and compliance, while also conducting audits to ensure adherence to APQP and PEP processes. Through your expertise in mechanical engineering and manufacturing, you will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement manufacturing plans for dry build processes
2. Analyse properties and manufacturing feasibility to optimise efficiency and quality standards
3. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with APQP and PEP processes
4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs
5. Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring adherence to regulations and policies
6. Provide technical support to resolve any manufacturing issues and improve processes
7. Utilise your mechanical engineering and manufacturing expertise to contribute to problem-solving and decision-making within the team
Requirements:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
2. Previous experience as a Planning Engineer within a manufacturing environment
3. Strong knowledge of APQP, PEP, and manufacturing feasibility processes
4. Ability to conduct audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
5. Proficiency in Continuous Improvement methodologies (CI/CD) and problem-solving techniques
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
8. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
