Mountain Healthcare is looking for a passionate, resilient, values driven leader to fill the position of Head of Healthcare and lead our custody healthcare service in Cumbria.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Provide effective clinical leadership to Forensic Practitioners and Healthcare Professionals.
2. Ensure high-quality, patient-focused care while meeting contractual KPIs.
3. Manage client relationships and identify opportunities for service enhancement.
4. Oversee staffing levels, skill mix, and compliance with operational standards.
5. Act as a role model and mentor, promoting professional development.
6. Coordinate healthcare pathways for individuals that come into contact with the criminal justice process.
7. Maintain a strong, on-site, presence and communication with staff, patients, and external stakeholders.

Position: Clinical Head of Healthcare
Location: Cumbria, Multi-site, Hybrid working (Workington, Carlisle, Barrow, Kendal)

Hours of Work:
Predominately Monday to Friday, flexible (24/7 service)
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Provide effective clinical leadership to all Forensic Practitioners and Healthcare Professionals, focusing on professional development issues.
2. Ensure that the delivery of services is within the budget forecast for their custody.
3. Ensure that high-quality, evidence-based, patient-focused care is provided to all patients.
4. Respond appropriately to capacity demands and patient dependency requirements, using professional judgement to ensure safety at all times.
5. Act as a role model and teacher to all members of staff sharing best practices. Ensure that all staff are compliant with MAST requirements at all times.
6. Give expert advice, support, and information to police, HCPs, and Forensic Practitioners, being aware of psychological/emotional needs and responding accordingly.
7. Oversee the management of Clinical Leads, HCPs, FMEs, and Forensic Practitioner teams within area of responsibility, ensuring effective rostering of staff.

Qualifications
Essential
* Driving license and access to a vehicle.
Experience
Essential
* Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience as a Nurse or Paramedic.
* Proven, multi-site, leadership and management experience.
* Experience managing a clinical service.
* Good relationship management skills.
* Line management experience.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience working in secure or police custody healthcare environments.
* Project management experience.
