Tax Quality Manager
12-month Secondment, full time.
London - More London Place preferred, but flexible
Role Description
The person in this role will play a key part in the Tax Quality team in the UK&I Region supporting our Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) Services business and the technology transformation agenda more broadly. The TTT team assists clients with enhancing their tax technology capabilities within a global digital economy and technology is a major growth area for the Firm.
The Tax Quality team is led by one partner and includes a number of staff members at all levels. The team supports the UK&I tax business in relation to a wide range of matters.
The role
As part of a key central team, you will be involved in the day-to-day management of relationships and support client engagement teams in the delivery of TTT and other services. You will work closely with key stakeholders such as EY's General Legal Counsel, Independence, and Financial Crime team to ensure compliance with EY's Tax Quality and Risk Management policies, as well as external Regulatory requirements at a global and local level.
The role is very varied and involves delivering on both project based and ad hoc work including a mix of technical Quality and project management support. For the right person, there is considerable opportunity to learn on the job and to gain valuable experience in this crucial area for our business.
The role would involve absorbing some considerable technical Quality expertise to enable delivery of the following typical projects:
1. Assist client engagement teams with their Quality and Risk Management questions and issues, to enable the teams to deliver exceptional client service within EY's Quality and Risk Management framework.
2. Help promote Tax Quality initiatives across the business units, including providing local awareness and training.
3. Prepare Tax Quality update communications for distribution to TTT teams.
4. Assist with internal Quality Reviews in TTT, including on remedial actions required.
5. Participate in other internal Quality Reviews.
6. Conduct additional engagement compliance testing to better gauge the risk managed by our engagement teams.
7. Assist with the assessment of new service offerings, including technology tools.
8. Ensure our policy and guidance for TTT services is kept up to date, including our portfolio of pre-written engagement agreements, scoping and terms and conditions for TTT services.

4. Shows a keen attention to detail and focus on quality.
5. Has good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and is able to deal tactfully with the many partners, directors, senior managers and other staff across the Region.
6. Is well organised and methodical with good process and project management skills.
7. Has the ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion on sensitive matters.
Experience/ Qualifications
1. A Manager (Level 3).
2. Excellent IT/Technology skills e.g., proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Power BI.
3. Knowledge of Quality and Risk Management/Compliance would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be given.
Knowledge of the overall technology environment and TTT Tax practice work would be an advantage, but is not essential.
