Description
We have a new opportunity for a Lifecycle Delivery Portfolio Manager to oversee our diverse portfolio of projects dedicated to mitigating technical debt risk in our technology estate. With an annual budget of approximately £4 million, you’ll play a crucial role in defining and mobilising projects that ensure our technology remains robust and future ready.
In this dynamic role, you’ll direct, review, and support project and program teams, ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You’ll work closely with both in-house teams and third-party service providers, applying your technology infrastructure delivery experience to guide projects through various delivery models.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting portfolio planning and budgeting by refining project estimates and owning the Lifecycle Technical Debt Portfolio delivery plan
* Ensuring project success by managing initial stages, creating and approving project briefs, and developing project proposals for in-house projects
* Overseeing the vendor Request for Proposal (RFP) process, reviewing proposals from third-party IT suppliers, and ensuring high-quality project plans, RAIDs, and costings
* Managing a portfolio of approximately 20 live projects, providing assurance and coaching to project managers while overseeing best practices and interdependencies
* Conducting weekly project escalation meetings with AXA stakeholders and third-party suppliers to address issues and support delivery
* Providing oversight for additional projects funded through the lifecycle budget, tracking and reporting on their delivery progress
* Co-managing monthly governance meetings with non-technology stakeholders to update on portfolio delivery status
* Sharing responsibility for the budget of ongoing projects, reviewing actuals and forecasts while addressing financial risks and escalations
* Writing, reviewing, and approving work orders and commercial contract updates for third-party delivery teams, ensuring project compliance
* Collaborating with third-party suppliers and change delivery teams to enhance project delivery processes and best practices
