The Provision & LSA Role
Specialist schools for students with social emotional needs and Autism aged 9-16 years old.
Focus on recovering from trauma through restorative practices and a holistic approach to learning.
1. SEMH, ADHD, Asperger's, OCD, Dyslexia, and a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
2. Focus on learning and delivering key and personal/functional skills.
3. Practical, creative, and vocational subjects that spark joy for the students and help them positively contribute to society.
Classes of 6-8, ranging in ability, interest, and age.
MAPA and ABA Training provided.
Starting pay is £85 per day PAYE, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.
This Learning Support Assistant role will put you into challenging situations that will build your foundations of experience. This is a specialist school where empathy and pragmatism are key. You will learn to focus on the holistic and therapeutic side of education.
Restorative Practice and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role in Dorking. The role specializes in working with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and wellness concerns. You will play a vital role in helping to raise attainment among the students, all of whom have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and associated learning difficulties.
Behavior is only one aspect of this role; it is imperative that you have the academic skill to be able to raise academic attainment across a number of areas. The school offers a mix of vocational subjects such as computing, hairdressing, PE, and the performing arts, as well as a core base of Math and English.
The consultant working on this role has personally worked in a similar setting following university and can vouch that your experience will be rich and incredibly rewarding, but also very challenging.
