ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Bamford family is growing, and we are looking for a talented and passionate Garment Technologist to join our Apparel team in London.

Reporting to the Head of Apparel, you will be working closely with the Design team to execute their vision whilst maintaining quality, consistency and ensuring brand products are fit for purpose in all aspects.
Working with the Buying team and factories ensuring all work is approved and production runs efficiently and on time.
You will develop an understanding for the Bamford philosophy and core values and interpret this into exciting new products across multiple categories in both womenswear and menswear.
This is a fulltime role, offering a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work closely with Design team to translate sketches into final garment by advising on best construction and fabrication with target costs in mind.
* Collaborating with Design team on creation and maintenance of tech packs for all styles developed.
* Accurately fill and update seasonal Range Plan, Product Bible, Line Detail and Sample Tracker for all categories.
* Responsible for a smooth handover to Production team.
* Contribute to the in-house creation of patterns/alterations as well as managing external consultants with an eye on budget.
* Inspect paper patterns from factories and highlight any issues.
* Record the movement of patterns using accurate labelling and documentation and then archive all patterns for future references.
* Ensure all SMS are measured against spec, photographed, logged and in pristine condition before fittings.
* Confidently organise and lead fit meetings recording detailed fit comments for suppliers.
* Take full ownership of quality control across woven and jersey categories when production is complete ensuring products meet the highest possible standard.
* Introduce and manage risk assessments and testing of products in close collaboration with the Production team, including wear and wash trials.
* Request sample cost and share costings with the wider team as early as possible, in order to review margin.
* Attend weekly Critical Path meetings to ensure deadlines are on track so business objectives are met.
* Maintain excellent relationships with our suppliers to implement standards and clearly communicate product comments.
* Request fabric data sheets from all fabric suppliers and ensure fabrics work for all markets
* Review all garment labels, communicate placement and define wash care.
* Manage budget for fitting models.
* Approve all SRS and PPS samples conversation with design team.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
* 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience within luxury womenswear.
* Knowledge of garment construction and pattern understanding is essential.
* Ability to conduct a fit session and measure models confidently.
* Thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive attitude and responding calmly and effectively to unexpected changes or challenges.
* Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach and a proactive 'can-do' attitude
