The role primarily involves the loading and unloading of articulated vehicles, the safe tipping, handling, and cleaning of Food Waste Dolavs and packaged waste, sometimes using a Telehandler or Forklift Truck, whilst maintaining high levels of cleanliness on the site. There will be some involvement with IT, a requirement to assist with low level maintenance tasks and general housekeeping around the site, using a pressure washer. This is a full-time role, working Monday- Friday. Dependant on the business level of the site there may be a requirement for weekend working, although this will be adhoc and advised in advance.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the Dolav operation in line with the site manager.
* Undertake the safe receipt and despatch of packaged and DOLAV waste. This will require the safe use of plant and equipment including telehandler, forklift and pressure washers, for which training will be provided.
* Undertake the safe tipping and washing out of Dolavs.
* Fulfil targets on DOLAV turnaround from Commercial schedule.
* Maintain Dolav cleanliness & hygiene.
* Ensure area of work is clean and tidy at all times.
* Accurate and transparent Dolav record keeping and reporting to commercial/sales team in Head Office.
* Provide assistance to the AD operations team when DOLAV delivery volumes are low or Dolav operation has been completed for that day.
* Ensure a safe and healthy working environment through good practice.
* There may also be a requirement to carry out various AD site tasks at the discretion of your Manager. This may include managing organic feedstock throughput throughout the process, Hammermill operation, OAS Scada monitoring, Weighbridge operation, assisting in plant maintenance, general upkeep and repairs and machinery operation.
* Maintaining relevant on-site Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and records.
* Liaising with clients, drivers, operational staff and management connected to deliveries.
* Ownership for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all.
Key Requirements
* Telehandler / FLT Certificate and prior experience desirable.
* Practical environmental and working safely knowledge.
