The Cardiac Angiography Suite (CAS) at the Oxford Heart Centre is recruiting for an experienced Nurse to join their team as the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
The Cardiac Angiography Suite is made up of 5 Cath Labs, a 16 bed Day Unit, and a 4 bed Assessment Area. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to lead the team.
Within the Cardiac Angiography Suite, patients undergo a wide variety of cardiac procedures. These include Coronary Angiography/Intervention, Pacemaker/ICD implantation, Electrophysiology Studies/Ablations, Structural/Congenital procedures, and Trans-Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). We also perform nurse-led Cardioversions, Transoesophageal Echoes, and Drug Challenges.
Main duties of the job
1. To promote and demonstrate contemporary and proactive approaches to acute Cardiology nursing practice and in collaboration with education links facilitate the advancement of this practice.
2. To lead and develop a team of nurses to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care.
3. To take responsibility for the strategic leadership of designated projects relating to the unit.
4. Work with Matron to manage strategic planning for the unit, taking operational responsibility for the effective utilisation of relevant resources.
5. Collaborate with the multi-professional team and provide direction and example for professional nursing practice.

* Evidence of personal development
* Experience working at Band 6 level
* Completion of a leadership and management development programme
