SEN Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work with pupil/s with a wide range of additional learning difficulties, in a secondary school in Newport. Your primary role is to enable our ALN students to reach their full potential by offering tailored support and guidance to enhance their learning experience. This position is ideal for anyone seeking to establish a career in education or gain experience with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Location: Newport
Job Type: Monday – Friday, 8:30 - 15:30
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £12.90, dependent on experience.
A successful candidate will:
- Have a genuine passion for helping young people achieve success in their academic and personal development.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs, promoting positive interactions.
- Ensure the pupil is kept safe, with an inclusive and stimulating environment.
- Participate in training and professional development sessions related to Autism, ADHD and other additional needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN is not a requirement but is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to various situations and student needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS and Educational Workforce Council (EWC) registration – Teaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these.
- Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
