An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Cardiac Nurse to take on a key nursing leadership role in managing our Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, and Cardiology Diagnostics team. Were seeking a passionate, highly motivated individual to lead and manage our Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, and Cardiology Diagnostics nursing team. This is an exciting chance to make a real impact, driving excellence in patient care while working alongside an innovative, multidisciplinary team. Our six-bedded CCU specialises in the management of acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, and heart failure. As the manager of this unit, youll have the opportunity to shape patient care strategies, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure the delivery of world-class care to acutely unwell patients. Youll also manage our Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, which is busy with a variety of procedures including coronary angiograms, EP studies, device implants (pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs, ILRs), and DCCVs. Plus, our Cardiac Diagnostics department supports vital services such as stress echocardiograms, TOEs, and nuclear perfusion scans. Youll work closely with another Band 7 colleague, and manage a dedicated and experienced team, including: 12 Band 6 Sisters and Charge Nurses 5 Staff Nurses 6 Healthcare Assistants This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging, dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering the highest standard of care. Youll need to demonstrate significant experience as a Cardiac Sister, with a strong background in quality improvement, education, and advanced cardiology knowledge. You should possess: Excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate a diverse team. A proven track record in team management with the ability to oversee and mentor staff at all levels. High standards of clinical skills in cardiology, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Experience in quality improvement initiatives within a clinical setting. A mentorship qualification and evidence of ongoing professional development in cardiology.
