Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop new techniques for the analysis of drug products and chemicals.
2. Prepare and analyze samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present.
3. Use Analytical and Biological methods and instrumentation, such as Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Gel Electrophoresis (GE), Western blot (WB), PCR, rt-PCR.
4. Present scientific results to relevant teams.
5. Perform laboratory investigations/troubleshooting to suggest potential causes and solutions.
6. Follow a variety of complex methods requiring significant interpretation or deviation from established practices.
7. Validate methods and equipment.
Education and Experience:
1. A master’s degree or PhD in chemistry / Biochemistry or a closely related field.
2. 3-4 years of relevant industry experience.
3. Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS, and Capillary Electrophoresis.

8. Strong numeracy skills with the knowledge of calculating and tabulating results.
9. Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build reports, quickly and effectively.
10. Knowledge of safety procedures, laboratory performance standards, handling chemicals, COSHH.
11. Good knowledge of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry and experience with GxP.
