Description The full-time starting salary is normally £37,332.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £40,581.00 per annum. Grade: SO2 Full time. 2 Years, Fixed Term This post has been created with a specific focus on reducing the ethnicity degree awarding gap (EDAG). This role will develop interventions, deliver clear actions and evaluate outcomes to respond to these university priorities. We are proactively seeking to recruit an individual with specific knowledge and expertise related to closing awarding gaps, anti-racist pedagogy, decolonisation, unconscious bias, curriculum development and design, and the ability to design effective interventions to support all students towards success. If you want to make a difference to the experience, success and outcomes for all students – please apply The role will involve working closely with module and course teams to identify issues, design appropriate interventions, monitor and evaluate the impact, and share good practice. Alongside consultations and workshops, the generation of new resources and self-service opportunities will also be required. The post holder will also support other workstreams across the Education Development Service linked to the Acess Participation Plan, Office for Students and National Student Survey (e.g. teaching practice, student experience, transitions to Higher Education, assessment practice). ROLE DETAILS The Education Developer will: Work with colleagues across Education Development Service and professional services to implement education development and enhancement plans and deliver well-aligned education practice. Support Faculty academic colleagues in interpreting local data and reports to explore and understand the student experience and potential improvements to be made and to report on findings at programme, Faculty and University level. Contribute to the delivery of credit-bearing and accredited programmes. Sustain a positive and productive working relationship with the Students’ Union and other student organisations / representatives across the university in pursuit of the integration of the student voice into educational development activities. Ensure a first-class learner education development service is delivered including the provision of specialist, professional advice to academic and professional services colleagues. Maintain currency in Higher Education (HE) pedagogy and educational development practice through engaging in scholarly practice. You will have: A good honours degree or equivalent professional qualification. FHEA status (or the capacity to gain recognition within one year) Experience of education development activity in HE or College Based HE. Teaching experience (at foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate level) Strong and effective IT / digital skills especially with data analysis and use of learner analytics. Good communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with others. Ability to work in a team What’s in it for you?
