HR Officer (Generalist) – part-time, interim 6 months contract

Join our client as an HR Officer and play a key role in supporting the HR team, improving HR systems, and providing governance and administrative support across the organisation.
Key facts
* Interim contract – 6 months
* Part time – 20-25 hours per week, flexible working hours
* Hybrid: typically one day a week in our client’ office in central Manchester; remaining days working from home
* Salary: £30,000 pa FTE (pro-rata for part-time hours)
NB: candidates must be immediately available or on a very short notice period
The role
Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Managing day-to-day HR administration, including maintaining the HR system, processing employee forms, and maintaining records.
* Supporting recruitment processes, including scheduling interviews, handling related administration, and occasionally participating in interview panels.
* Assisting in developing and refining HR systems and payroll processes.
* Contributing to payroll administration by collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate implementation of HR changes.
* Coordinating IT account setup and workstation preparation for new starters, following onboarding procedures.
* Supporting staff inductions and the offboarding process for leavers.
* Contribute to office and space planning while ensuring HR considerations are accounted for.
* Providing governance support, such as preparing board papers, liaising with trustees, and maintaining governance contact records.
The ideal candidate
This role will suit you perfectly if you already have:
* Experience in an office environment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
* Knowledge of HR systems and HR administration processes
* Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to professional development.
