Job Overview
We have a full-time Level 1, B5 registered Social Worker position available in the Older Persons/Physical Disability teams in East Staffordshire.
Our service supports Staffordshire residents over 18 with physical disabilities and older adults over 65 with physical and mental health disabilities. This permanent, full-time post is ideal for those starting their social work career, offering a variety of experiences within a dynamic and experienced team. You will receive comprehensive support to develop your skills and complete your ASYE. The team is active and supportive, providing opportunities to work in areas such as safeguarding, substance misuse, and supporting adults with dementia and/or physical disabilities.
We seek individuals to join our planned care community teams, working alongside colleagues within our broader care group. A solid understanding of available services and community resources to support and promote independence at home is essential. The post holder must be a registered Social Worker or in their final year of Social Work training, responsible for conducting statutory assessments under the Care Act 2014, mental capacity assessments, and making best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2022. The role involves performing assessments, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding inquiries for vulnerable adults, utilising a strengths-based approach and focusing on developing community-based assets.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Due to Covid, we have adopted more flexible and remote working, operating a hybrid model with part-remote and flexible options based on service needs. This provides social workers with a quiet space and time for reflection, increasing autonomy and positively impacting wellbeing and work-life balance.
This is a full-time position, but part-time applicants will also be considered. It is essential that you have access to suitable transport arrangements to fulfill the role's requirements.

Additional Support and Development
We offer informal support, monitored workload, monthly supervisions, and membership to the Social Work Learning Academy, supporting ongoing professional development. You will receive direct support from the Practice Lead and colleagues, along with peer support within your team.
On appointment, you will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned with the British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. Your 'stage' (e.g., 1 for ASYE, 2 for Social Worker, 3 for Advanced Social Worker) will be determined based on prior CPD and experience. You will be responsible for your own CPD.
