Exciting Opportunity: SEND Teaching Assistant in Ladywood
Monarch Education are currently looking for a dedicated SEN TA (Teaching Assistant) to work within a Primary School in B16. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual who is available between the hours of 8:30 - 15:30 either full time or part time. You will need to have experience working with SEND children and must be comfortable with personal care.
Requirements of applicant:
* Experience working with children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and other learning difficulties.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
* Strong communication skills to effectively support students, teachers, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with pupils who require additional support.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
* Ability to adapt learning materials and activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
* Collaborative mindset to work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills to support students in their academic progress.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support for pupils with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
* Assist children with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and physical disabilities.
* Adapt lesson materials and teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
* Use positive behaviour management techniques to support pupils with challenging behaviour.
* Foster confidence, independence, and social skills in pupils.
* Support children with personal care needs, if required.
Salary: £85 - 110 per day (Reviewed after 12 weeks placement*)
