You will split your time between 3 departments, working within the Cardiac Catheter Labs, Xray and Interventional teams. Main duties of the job Work within all mandated regulatory guidelines and comply with our policies protocols and guidelines, ensuring high quality, safe working practices in a safe working environment. Provide highest quality of care, treating all patients equitably. Responsible for the safe and efficient use of expensive and complex technical equipment. Management of workload in the room/area they are working in. Work as part of our wider Torbay and South Devon team, supporting patient pathways for all patient types, assuring that patients receive the most effective and efficient service. Contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements. Supervise and advise trainees and students, taking an active part in their education. Responsible for maintaining their registration and portfolio of continual professional development. Work within multidisciplinary teams in high pressure environments for complex procedures. Take part in regular audits and SOP creation where needed Commitment to the 24/7 primary PCI on-call service. Be part of the 24 hours/7-day provision of service for radiology, which involves working without more senior radiographic supervision on-site. There are two GE Cardiac catheter Labs, with their own recovery to allow an efficient flow of outpatients, & Coronary Care Unit is next door for our In-patient work. We operate a 24/7 Primary PCI service. We have a Philips integrated IVUS system in both labs. With 11 Cardiologists, procedures range from Diagnostic angiograms to rotablation & shockwave, & Pacemakers to CRT devices. We aim to provide regular team CPD sessions. The Philips interventional suite provides a service Monday - Friday 9-5. We carry out a wide variety of procedures including vascular, GI, Urology, & Ultrasound/Xper CT guided Biopsies/drainages. Our X-ray team is led by a Superintendent Radiographer, supported by Band 6 specialist radiographers and a team of MSK Reporting radiographers who are available for advice, support & education. Our main site consists of 2 general DR imaging rooms, 2 fluoroscopy rooms, & 2 smaller rooms used for OP imaging. With a range of DR mobile x-ray machines & 4 mobile IIs. Radiographers support at our community sites, including our 2 roomed DR department at Newton Abbot, & a DR room at Dawlish hospital. We provide a full 24/7 X-ray imaging service at Torbay Hospital, & our department at Newton Abbot is a 9-5 daily service.
