About the Organisation
Families First Guildford delivers a joined-up offer of family resilience and safeguarding services for families with children 0 – 18 years (up to 25 years to support those with additional needs), based on a clear understanding of local needs across a district & borough.
We work across the borough of Guildford with our main site at Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue.
About the Role
Families First Guildford is looking for an Assistant Family Support Worker to join our team as soon as possible.
The post is full time for 52 weeks a year and permanent although there is flexibility for part time hours and job sharing, with a minimum of 20 hours per week over 4 days.
As an Assistant Family Support Worker, you will facilitate, in partnership with other practitioners and agencies, a range of outcome-based family learning and parenting programmes. You will also hold a caseload of up to 9 families. We are currently seeing an increase in allocations due to children's additional needs and the impact this can have on both home and school. As part of the role, you will have to support the needs of these families.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person who is:
* Level 3 qualified in education, health and/or social care.
* Positive, flexible, responsible, inclusive, and passionate about working with families, particularly those with additional needs.
* Keen to make a real impact within and beyond their own team.
* A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Highly motivated and able to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
* Able to work in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children's outcomes.
* Able to lead high-quality groups for families.
* Able to support families with children who have additional needs.
A full driving licence and use of a car is required for this role.
We can offer you:
* The opportunity to develop your skills through a thorough supervision programme.
* A positive, friendly and supportive team of staff and governors.
* Great resources and facilities.
* The chance to work with children and families who are fantastic to be with.
We are recruiting for both AFSW and FSW's and applicants are welcome to express interest in both.
