Role:Senior Project Engineer Location:Plymouth(Hydrid/remote Duration:12 months Insid3 IR35 10 Dock Senior Project Engineer WRB The Major Infrastructure Projects directorate provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for the ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be working within the Water Retaining Boundary team, helping to manage the lead design consultant for a critical civils design package. Using your experience in facility upgrade or infrastructure projects, you will manage the delivery of heavy civils infrastructure designs and work with users and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrated facility is delivered to time, cost, and quality for the sustainment capability. You will use your Project Management expertise to ensure that the design meets the technical and operational requirements of the facility. Main Purpose of Role The purpose of a Senior Project Engineer is to ensure effective design and project management of sub-packages within the WRB package, key responsibilities include: Supporting the Package Manager who is responsible for the delivery of multiple sub-packages. Working closely with the technical team to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality criterium by leading sub-packages through governance processes. Responsible for working with schedule, commercial, cost and risk management functions to ensure that design packages are delivered to time, cost, and quality parameters. Assisting the technical and project team in the development of requirements, project scope and solutions for specific work packages. Translate supply chain reporting into useable data to inform planning, monitoring and control of work packages. Manage input to cost and budget monitoring. Document & Deliverable management. Manage the risk process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities, and issues. Assist with administering the NEC contract using CEMAR. Additional information: The role will require frequent travel to design consultants' offices UK wide. The role will require frequent visits to Devonport to engage with the construction delivery team. Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences The candidate must have experience of project or design management, ideally within an infrastructure delivery. It is preferable that the candidate will have experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract. The project is located on a Nuclear Licensed site, as such, experience in delivery of nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services would be of desirable. Qualifications The candidate must hold a bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in a STEM subject area.
