Safe-Tay Security Services Ltd is actively recruiting Safety Stewards for various locations through Dundee and Angus, Perth & Kinross and North Fife with immediate starts available upon successful submission of our Application Pack and completion of the required compulsory Introduction Training.
Are you able to:
◉ Deal with the public in a polite and helpful manner.
◉ Remain calm and approachable at all times.
◉ Work well on your own or as part of a team.
◉ Work long hours as some event shifts can up to 12 hours minimum.
These are some of the essential skills we look for and if you have this then we want to hear from you. All we ask is that you are aged 16 or over and can converse fluently in English.
Areas of work may include Football/Rugby Stadiums, Golf, Hospitality Venues, Public Space Events, Concerts/Festivals, Carnivals and much more.
Role: Safety Steward & SIA Licensed Security
Desired Qualifications: NVQ 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (or working towards)
No previous experience or qualification required as ongoing Training & Development is provided in-house through our dedicated Staff Training & Development Program and SQA/Highfield training partner, Hawkhill Training Services.
The role is one of customer service therefore we are keen to expand our employee base with individuals who possess excellent communication skills with customer satisfaction as its core focus.
Candidates should:
◉ Attend at given dates and times as directed by the shift booking and allocation system.
◉ Attend any required pre/post event briefings as instructed by our shift booking system.
◉ Be responsible for the safety and comfort of their colleagues and themselves.
◉ Be responsible for the safety and comfort of customers.
◉ Carry out pre or post safety checks as instructed by Supervisors/Management/Clients.
◉ Staff entrances, exits and other key safety points.
◉ Constantly monitor the public in your assigned area checking for signs of distress or overcrowding and take action in accordance with standing instructions given.
◉ Assist in the prevention of overcrowding.
◉ Be able to control and direct the public entering and leaving the event and to assist in this movement through communication (English requirement)
◉ Ensure that gangways and exit/evacuation routes in your area are kept clear.
◉ Identify and investigate any incident or occurrence among the public reporting findings to a Supervisor and where appropriate completing the relevant Incident/Offence Report.
◉ Enforce and immediately report any breach of Legislative Requirements to a Supervisor/Manager/Client.
◉ Be knowledgeable in the location of and be able to operate effectively the fire fighting equipment if required (training available).
◉ Know the location of the First Aid Rooms.
◉ Be fully conversant with any methods or messages used to alert staff that an emergency has arisen.
◉ Be capable of recognizing potential fire hazards and suspect packages, reporting such matters immediately following the HOT Protocol.
◉ Promptly comply with any instruction given by a Supervisor/Manager.
◉ Remain at allocated post as instructed.
◉ Report immediately to a Supervisor any damage or defect which is likely to pose a threat or danger to public safety.
◉ Assist as required in any evacuations.
◉ Comply with the relevant instructions and guidance contained in the Stewards Operational Handbook or briefings.
◉ To undertake specific duties in an emergency or as directed by a Supervisor/Manager.
◉ Attend all required training / top-up training as required.
