The successful candidate will be expected to take an operational lead on:
* Academic and professional support, inc. liaison and user education
* Subject support enquiry services, alongside generic provision including: subject guides, resource lists, referencing, copyright, research
* Curation of resources for health related programmes
* Induction, class-sessions, tailored delivery, drop-ins
* Communicating with all users: promotion of resources and services
The Library prides itself in delivering excellent customer service and in being a very supportive team. Although the role is campus based, there may be an opportunity to undertake some hybrid working - one day per week.

Main duties of the job
* Lead support of Health programmes, including the University Medical School.
* Working closely with the Academic Liaison Team Leader to deliver quality assured support and resources.
* Responsible for updating and continuously developing library materials, online subject guides and other resources.
* Represent the Library at Faculty/School committees and other meetings.
* Collaborative design, promotion and delivery of library skills and online training to support student learning.
* Divide time between the main Library and the University Medical School.

Job responsibilities
* Ensure support for library users at all levels; regular contact and excellent working relationship with academics.
* Develop academic staff engagement with collaborative projects and working groups.
* Develop research support, including training sessions for research students and staff.
* Identify trends in service demand and communicate findings to support the accreditation of Customer Service Excellence award.
* Support colleagues in identifying student engagement opportunities.
* Coordinate the administration and delivery of class-sessions, induction and library tours.
* Provide high quality administrative support to colleagues within the Library.
* Prepare reports and provide statistics at the direction of the Academic Liaison Team Leader.
* Design and develop content for the website, social media, videos and podcasts.
* Lead, design and deliver library skills in person and online.
* Analyse feedback from surveys to develop targeted support.
* Engage with trends in HE and professional support groups.
* Evaluate and report on new approaches to improve Library services.
* Support users in their transition into Higher Education, embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI).
* Anticipate and resolve specialist subject enquiries.
* Create guidance material ensuring online library content is updated and compliant.
* Be responsible for digital and information literacy skills provision.
* Contribute fully to all Library work and development of Library services.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the nature and grade of your post.
* Plan, manage, and support the delivery of strategic projects.
* Work flexibly as part of the library team.
* Liaise with key staff in central teams and the Students Union.
* Participate in university events and activities.
* Ensure and maintain integrity and confidentiality of data.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent standard of education, in English & Mathematics
* CILIP Chartership or Fellowship (or equivalent), or clear commitment to completion if not yet awarded
Desirable
* Professional qualification, library-related degree or equivalent level experience working in health-related library service
Experience

* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and other health-related databases.
* Effective administration skills.
* Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities.
* Able to maintain a helpful and cooperative manner under pressure.
