If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to join our Complex Emotional Needs pathway (Assertive Stabilisation Team). We are a new team developed to work with hard-to-reach service users and form part of our Complex Emotional Needs pathway in North Cumbria.
Main Duties of the Job
You will offer leadership and clinical expertise within a small team and be part of the wider Community, Crisis, and Acute services with links to primary care and third sector providers. You will assess and implement clinical interventions aimed at promoting engagement and managing risk with a small group of multi-agency service users. You will offer clinical supervision and complex case scaffolding.

Job Responsibilities
Caseloads will be small with an emphasis on clients with complex presentations. The roles will also involve supervision of team members, contribution to the staff wellbeing programme, delivery of scaffolding, and input into service development and research projects. The postholder will also support the work of the Consultant Psychological Therapist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of the service. They will, where appropriate, deputise for the Consultant Lead. This role will emphasize enhancing pathway coordination, adherence, and throughput through the system.
Person Specification
Experience
* Demonstrate further specialist training and experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a psychological therapist over a minimum of 18 months or an alternative agreed by the Psychological Services Professional Lead.
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management. Specialist skills and competency in at least two evidence-based psychological therapies relevant to the pathway.
* Knowledge of the theory and practice of one or more specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups relevant to the community pathway, e.g., personality disorder, dual diagnosis, people with additional disabilities.
* Experience of professional management.
* Experience of the application of psychological therapies in different cultural contexts.
Skills and Knowledge
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management. Specialist skills and competency in at least two evidence-based psychological therapies relevant to the pathway.
* Trainer in clinical supervision.
Qualifications
* An Honours Degree in Psychology recognised for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, or RMN, or equivalent degree-level qualification in mental health, and Post-graduate qualifications in psychological assessment and psychological therapy (e.g., Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Postgraduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma). HCPC registered practitioner psychologist or equivalent, e.g., BABCP registered CBT practitioner, or member of an appropriate professional body.
* Substantial post-qualification experience of specialist model-specific psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of clients across a wide range of care settings.
