Fire & Security Engineer
Our client, established in 1982, has built a strong reputation over 40 years for providing dynamic, reliable, and friendly service to both domestic and commercial clients across the South of England. Due to recent success and expansion, they are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer for their Wiltshire branch to cover clients across the South West.

Key Responsibilities
* Installation: Install fire detection and security alarm systems, including emergency lighting, remote monitoring, intruder alarms, access controls, intercoms, and nurse call systems.
* Maintenance: Provide ongoing reactive maintenance and repair services.
* Collaboration: Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure timely completion and rescheduling of works.
* Support: Assist customers and support company operations, including sales, administration, and other areas as needed.
* Supervision and Technical Support: Offer guidance and technical support to colleagues and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
* Compliance: Adhere to company guidelines and standards of work.
* Follow-Up: Ensure necessary follow-up actions and recommendations to clients are referred to the appropriate person.
* Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and manner in line with client and company expectations.
* Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
* Training: Attend training courses and meetings, overseeing the development of colleagues.
* Health and Safety: Follow company Health and Safety guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
* Additional Duties: Perform other engineering and servicing-related duties as determined by management.
Essential Skills
* 3-5 years’ experience in a fire & security role.
* Manufacturer training in leading fire & security systems.
* Background in installation, service, and maintenance engineering.
Desirable Skills
* Basic programming knowledge of specific systems such as Advanced Electronics, HAES, Kentec, Gent, Hochiki, Apollo, Vesda, Airsense, Honeywell, Paxton, Control Soft, Videcon, Hikvision.
* Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to suggest appropriate actions.
* Experience in domestic and commercial environments.
* City and Guilds 236 parts 1&2 electrical installation or equivalent experience.
* 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
* Clean, valid driving license.
* Basic hand tools.

PURPOSE OF A SECURITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER
We are looking for a skilled Security Systems Engineer to join our client's team. The role involves repairing, installing, and maintaining intruder alarms, access control systems, warden call systems, communal aerials, and CCTV equipment, ensuring all work complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SECURITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER:
* Service and install door entry, warden call, automatic door/gate systems, CCTV (including IP/networked), and intruder alarms.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance on the above systems.
* Ensure all access control and CCTV work, including tests, inspections, and compliance checks, adheres to current British Standards.
* Provide daily updates to the supervisor/manager on the status of all works and inform them of any time-scale or resource issues in advance.
* Carry out other duties as reasonably requested.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience in social housing or local authority maintenance.
* Hold a valid CSCS card.
* Preferably have experience with manufacturers such as ISM, GDX, ENTROTEC, SML, PAC, KMS, RECORD, GEZE, GALAXY, and TEXECOM (training will be provided).
* Possess strong communication and analytical skills.
* Be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving licence.
SALARY/BENEFITS
* Full-time position with opportunities for overtime and out-of-hours call-outs.
* Competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, based on experience.
* 21 days of holiday, increasing by 1 day every 2 years of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus statutory holidays.
