Aster requires an experienced and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance team to assist with the delivery of a professional financial service to our internal customers.
We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude towards delivering financial support to our operational colleagues and takes a collaborative approach to problem solving.
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting the team in delivering monthly management accounts, periodic forecasting and budgeting.
* Being responsible for journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
* Working closely with colleagues both inside and outside of finance.
* Getting involved in ad-hoc projects and assist in the preparation of statutory accounts.
About you
You need to be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) with GCSE passes in English and Maths. Studying, or a desire to study, towards a recognised professional accounting qualification is desirable.
You will have experience of working in a finance team with experience of working with computerised accounts systems. The successful candidate must be an advanced user of Excel and would be comfortable analysing data and using functions such as VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and pivot tables. Experience with Dynamics F&O or similar financial management systems would be desirable.
You’ll need to be an effective communicator, establishing and building relationships across the business to enable collaborative working where applicable.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, so you’ll need to be able to juggle conflicting priorities and juggle a demanding workload whilst retaining a good eye for detail.
You will need to be a good team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, as well as being a proactive, forward thinker with a flexible approach to hours worked.
