About the team?
Youwill be working with the Engineering Information Systems (EIS) Manager within the Head of Engineering team.
About the job?
Wehave recently introduced an IT user interface to work alongside the SAP system used to manage traction and rolling stock maintenance & materials. This is the Engineering Integrated Fleet Management System [IFMS]. The Assistant EIS manager will be expected to support the EIS manager with their day-to-day workload and become a joint subject matter expert on GWR's SAP system, applicable interfaces, and other engineering IT systems.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* To support the EIS manager with management of IFMS.
* Support the IFMS project team with the rollout of IFMS asset management to the GWR fleets and be the first point of contact for depot superusers for support
* Suggest improvements and potential upgrades to IFMS to improve the user experience and functionality of the system
* Assist in refresher training and new starter training, creation, and modification of training documents to create a standardised training package for all engineering colleagues
* Assist in the creation & maintenance of engineering procedures related to IFMS
* Liaise with the Materials Engineer to ensure system compliance with engineering & stores procedures
* Become a subject matter expert for Engineering Information systems (IFMS, Sirenum, R2, Engineering tablets etc.)
You'll need to be:
* Computer literate and have a great ability to learn new systems quickly
* A self-starter able to work with a high degree of autonomy
As a minimum, you will need to have:
* A good understanding of, and be a proficient user of SAP and/or Neptune products or the ability to learn quickly and become a subject matter expert
* An understanding of Engineering business processes
* An understanding of stores logistics & materials processes
* Competent using the Microsoft Office 365 apps suite, particularly Excel, Word and Visio
* Previous use of maintenance management systems (R2) & personnel management systems (Sirenum) will be beneficial
* Previous working experience within an engineering environment is desirable

Additional Information:
There will be a requirement to visit engineering and other locations across GWR when required. This role will be an excellent opportunity to become a subject matter expert on the primary maintenance & stores management system being used by GWR engineering, it will also provide an insight into the workings of the SAP system that runs behind the scenes within GWR
