Pharmaceutical Technicians play a key role in delivering safe and effective services to the local community.
About the Opportunity
From providing customers with expert advice to supplying a prescription service that exceeds their expectations, you’ll be providing a real personable service that our customers can trust. You are key to helping us change for the better and making a real difference in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and maintaining accurate medication records.
2. Check received prescriptions for legality and accuracy.
3. Prepare drugs and medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
4. Label and check medicines for dispensing.
5. Maintain accurate patient records on the PMR (Patient Medication Record) system.
6. Counsel customers on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
7. Follow stock control and management processes to maintain adequate inventory.
8. Ensure all controlled drugs are handled in line with legislation under the pharmacist's supervision.
9. Efficiently manage work-flow.
10. Restock medications and supplies as needed.
11. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns.
12. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
13. Complete professional on-the-job training under the pharmacist's supervision.
What You’ll Need to Have:
1. GCSEs/S grades or the equivalent.
2. An undergraduate degree or equivalent level of study in Pharmacy (Non-UK degrees with an ENIC Compatibility statement can be considered).
3. At least 1 year of proven experience working in a community pharmacy.
4. A passion for customer care.
5. Ability to coach and lead the Dispensary team.
6. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug names, and calculations.
7. Ability to work as part of a busy team.
