About the Role
Located in Royston, Hertfordshire, within a purpose-built facility and spacious grounds, Priory Hospital Kneesworth House is a high dependency rehabilitation setting offering a range of specialist recovery pathways. The hospital provides acute and psychiatric intensive care, medium and low secure services, and a community-focused rehabilitation ward.
We are seeking a Registered Practitioner Psychologist to join our friendly, supportive, and expanding psychology team. The team includes experienced qualified psychologists, trainee and assistant psychologists, and art therapists. Our psychologists collaborate closely with colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide psychological services to adult males across the Acute service (Nightingale Acute Ward & Foxton Acute Ward).
2. Develop psychological formulations, assessments, and treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
3. Offer specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and brief interventions following NICE and best practice guidelines.
4. Provide advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals.
5. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.
6. Supervise assistant and trainee psychologists as required.
Essential Requirements
* Postgraduate qualification in clinical, forensic, or counselling Psychology.
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
* Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs, including psychosis and severe interpersonal difficulties.
* Experience working through a trauma-informed lens with evidence-based interventions.
* Candidates may be newly qualified psychologists.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in an acute setting.
* Knowledge of at least one therapeutic modality.
* Interest in ongoing CPD and research, with opportunities for funded training and conference attendance.
