The Director of Go to Market & Growth is a critical role within Technology's Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Managing Director, with accountability for developing and driving the full spectrum of Go to Market and Growth activity across sales, tendering, and solutioning, account development and growth. The role leads c.50 people across these areas.
You will ensure effective GTM effort for all four of our lines of business, with accountability for growing profitable revenue aligned with our Business and business line goals. This includes driving segmented approaches that truly work for our spectrum of customers and solutions, from strategic key accounts to transactional engagements.
In order to be effective in this role, you will collaborate strongly with the RM Technology Senior Leadership Team, including the business line General Managers and broader functional leadership to build a culture of growth and efficiency through effective collaboration.
You will be leading a team in transition, so must be comfortable leading in a context of change, and engaging people within it.
The role requires an experienced leader, with strong experience driving and developing Go to Market and Growth activities, ideally with knowledge within our industry or the public sector.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Implementation
• Support the MD and other SLT members in developing and driving our business strategy, with accountability for delivering aligned Go to Market and Growth strategies and ensuring these connect to wider activities.
• Working closely with the General Managers, develop, drive and be accountable for the commercial strategies and activity required to achieve our financial and non-financial strategic goals, revenue targets, and deliver upon our budget and 5-year plans.
• Lead change across the Go to Market and Growth team operating model, achieving integrated processes and relationships between teams (within and between departments) and increasing standardisation and efficiency, and driving the changes in capabilities, roles, systems, data, and other aspects required to deliver on this.
• Ensure "Thinking Outside-In" takes place, with relevant industry best practice used to drive improvements in our GTM and Growth operations.
Commercial Performance
• Develop the metrics to ensure effective reporting of forecast, pipeline and orders from existing and new customers.
• Use the metrics to drive the team to react to opportunities and challenges.
• Balance the needs of short-term and long-term objectives, to ensure the ongoing success of the business.
• Monitor performance and take corrective measures when necessary.
Leadership
• Act as an engaged and visible leadership role model for the cross-business team, recognising your role in contributing to cross-business culture and success.
• Engage your people in the operating model for Go to Market and Growth, developing their understanding and buy in to changes and place within the broader Business operating model.
• Create and develop an effective function, including attracting, motivating and growing a high-performance team.
• Grasp responsibility for the success of your remit, holding your team and peers to account for the part they play in this success.
• Create clarity for your people through the alignment of goals, KPIs, recognition and incentives, to drive, measure and reward execution of our strategy.
• Provide a purpose-led, performance-driven environment for your people, in which they can thrive by understanding the future, feeling connected and being empowered. Instill the behaviours of our five to drive and commercial awareness within local team culture.
• Coach and challenge your team to continually increase their impact and develop their skills and capabilities; hold them to account for identifying and delivering opportunities within their remit and collaborating effectively across the business.
• Lead and drive engagement with Go to Market goals within the full business, ensuring cross-business communication, awareness, alignment and engagement with plans and activity.
External Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as an ambassador and evangelist for RM within the market.
• Establish and manage long term relationships with key customer and market stakeholders.
• Act as a senior point of escalation for the team in their engagements with customers, as and when required.
Experience
You will have proven experience of:
* Senior leadership of Go to Market operations, ideally from a similar industry context.
* Success in driving and delivering commercial growth.
* Building and developing strong, high-performing matrix and direct line teams of a similar size.
* Driving transformation, continuous improvement and efficiency.
You will be:
* A strong collaborative team player, able to work well with other leaders, to ensure all functions work in concert to deliver business strategy and outcomes.
* An executor, able to translate business objectives into functional strategy, and strategy into delivery, and ensure this is achieved.
* A commercial operator and confident decision-maker, able to demonstrate sound judgment in a broad variety of complex business scenarios.
* An experienced leader, who understands what it takes to engage and lead a team through change.
You will have:
* The ability to role model best in class Go to Market and Growth skills and capabilities, and to lead and inspire others to develop similar.
* The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, and passion to represent RM.

* A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
