Our client who are a hazardous waste management company are looking for a Site Chemist to join their team in West Bromwich. You will work alongside site operatives and the Site Chemist Manager to ensure that chemicals are processed, stored, labelled and transferred in a safe, compliant and timely manner. Job Title: Site Chemist Contract: Permanent Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00 – 4:00pm / Friday 7:00 – 2:30pm Salary: £27k Location: West Bromwich Key Responsibilities: Receiving, storing, and handling of hazardous waste into site. Assess waste on arrival for acceptance checks and analysis, using the laboratory facilities or onsite testing Compatibility testing of wastes in preparation for repacking or bulking Laboratory analysis of site effluent and other customer samples Repacking of wastes such as laboratory smalls, ensuring compliance with waste segregation, labelling, and packing requirements Provide support to the Senior Chemist, Compliance Manager and site operatives in the day to day running of the site in line with all relevant permits and legislation, to ensure effective operation of all area processes, managing input, through-put and output of wastes effectively Ensuring the correct segregation and storage of hazardous waste, in line with all company procedures and regulatory requirements. Working alongside site operatives to ensure that waste is processed, stored and transferred in a safe, compliant and timely manner Assisting with the control of material flows through and ensuring container stocks are maintained to avoid delays and backlogs Raising non-conformances and providing necessary information to allow these to be actioned To maintain effective record keeping and documentation, to include the running of the sites stock control system, production records and in-process records To maintain effective record keeping and documentation, to include the running of the sites stock control system, production records and in-process records Requirement: You will ideally hold a Degree within a Chemistry related discipline and have previous experience in a similar role. You will be a strong communicator with good organisational skills and willingness to develop within the role.
