We are seeking a diligent and proficient Electrically biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain, repair, and enhance manufacturing equipment based in St Helens.

Description
As the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be tasked with the following:
1. An active involvement in health and safety activities to ensure hazards are identified and eliminated; and the highest standards achieved.
2. Create, modify, and review risk assessments and standard operating procedures in accordance with Group Policy, legislation, and industry best practice.
3. Diagnose electrical and mechanical breakdowns to restore equipment; by reviewing drawings/documentation, repair and/or redesign, in order to avoid or minimize production downtime and losses.
4. Carry out preventative maintenance of plant, services, distribution, and alarm systems to avoid downtime/losses.
5. Complete electrical works up to 415V that may include live working.
6. Ensure reporting processes are followed (verbal/written) relating to maintenance activity, processing of engineering spare parts, and storage records.
7. Contribute to a range of continuous improvement activities, including maximizing performance of plant, equipment, and control systems; driving housekeeping standards (5S), reducing energy consumption, and environmental impacts.
8. Supervision of trainees and contractors.
9. Individual and team-based problem solving.
10. Project coordination and administration of maintenance systems/drawings.
Profile
A successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer should have:
1. HNC/HND and/or equivalent NVQ in ideally Electrical Engineering, or alternatively Mechanical Engineering.
2. Ability to work flexibly within engineering/manufacturing teams across all areas of the plant to achieve set standards/targets and continuous improvement.
3. Stringent adherence to safe operating procedures.
4. Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods and capable of identifying, generating, and managing own workload.
5. Effective communication with all members of the department and other areas, in particular, production.
6. Willingness to be flexible in order to respond to changes in priority or emergency situations and available to work on an "on call" basis during one week in every four weeks.
