In this key position, you’ll provide confidential and comprehensive support to our Chief Strategy Officer and the wider Strategy team, helping to deliver an exciting programme of work.
You’ll undertake complex diary management and provide business support for the Chief Strategy Officer, managing a small team to ensure an effective, professional and friendly business support service for the wider team. You’ll link with external partners and use your initiative and judgement to help manage multiple competing demands.
In addition, you will be responsible for first-line project and programme management, ensuring that key strategic initiatives are delivered as planned, and help to co-ordinate the overall programme of work for the team.
Main duties of the job
* Provide executive assistant support to the Chief Strategy Officer and ensure a high quality business support service to the wider Strategy team.
* Manage the business support team, supporting personal and professional development and continually improving the way the team works.
* Co-ordinate the work programme of the Strategy team, providing project and programme support on key pieces of work.
* Attend meetings on behalf of the Strategy team, representing views and disseminating information as appropriate.
* Management of the pay and non-pay budget for the business support team.

Person Specification
Essential criteria
* Degree or equivalent significant experience plus further experience and knowledge
* Significant experience at managing an administrative / secretarial team, including line management of staff and initiating and maintaining office systems
* Significant experience as a PA at director level.
* Experience of dealing with sensitive issues
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office software packages
* Able to work to tight deadlines
* Ability to communicate on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of success in efficient and effective project and programme management.
* Previous experience of working for an executive director
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
