Head of Treasury

We have an excellent opportunity for an individual with broad corporate treasury experience to join Aviva's Group Treasury team and support the Group Treasurer as the lead across all key Group Treasury activity.
A bit about the role
The Group Treasury team is focused on the delivery of Aviva's 'Financial Strength' strategy with key activities divided into three areas:
1. External funding and credit ratings
2. Liquidity management
3. Bank relationships
The Head of Treasury will lead the team in the successful delivery of Aviva's debt and equity capital market activity, the management and maintenance of positive relationships with banks, rating agencies and debt investors and the management and oversight of the Group's centre liquidity position.
This person will lead key initiatives and projects such as debt capital issuance & redemption, equity capital management (external dividends and share buybacks) and internal financing.
Within the role you will work closely and build relationships with peers in the Aviva Group Capital team, and across other teams including Finance, Legal, Corporate Development (M&A and Investor Relations) and Risk. In addition, you'll be interacting with Aviva Investors and local business unit teams on a regular basis. The role requires regular presenting at various internal Boards and Committees and the preparation of appropriate papers and briefings to senior level management.
This is an external facing role so you will be interacting and regularly meeting with a variety of external stakeholders including banks, legal firms, and rating agencies. You will also be involved in the preparation of information for the PRA.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
1. A positive and hard-working individual with high energy and broad experience in corporate treasury, and in particular debt capital management
2. Relevant professional qualification (Treasury/Accounting/Actuarial are all appropriate)
3. Familiarity with Solvency UK regulatory requirements and capital management including PRA requirements would be an advantage
4. Experience leading on projects and dealing with C-suite officers as well as having the ability to influence, negotiate and have strong senior partner leadership skills

1. Salary circa £130,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
